Space Exploration Monument
Antonio Pio Saracino, APS Designs
Dimensions: Arches 16’ to 24’ B / 14’ to 20’ H
The Florida Space Exploration Monument is a public art proposal for a public competition by Antonio Pio Saracino conceived as an immersive landmark dedicated to Florida’s enduring legacy in space exploration. Composed of a sequence of stainless steel arches arranged in perspective, the monument creates a spatial narrative of movement, progress, and aspiration. Engraved names, perforated images, and written text are integrated into the surfaces of the arches, honoring astronauts, contributors, and families whose dedication has shaped one of humanity’s most daring journeys. Illuminated from within, the monument becomes both memorial and experience—an architectural passage where light, history, and public presence are brought into a single civic gesture.
