During an official visit to New York, representatives of the Consiglio Regionale della Puglia presented Antonio Pio Saracino with an institutional honor in recognition of his contribution to strengthening the relationship between Puglia and the Italian American community. The recognition celebrated Saracino’s work as an Italian architect, designer, and artist and his role in bringing Italian culture to the United States. As part of the occasion, he presented a proposal for a landmark symbol for the Regione Puglia, drawing from the geometry of the regional emblem and reinterpreting it in tribute to Castel del Monte.
