LACMA Permanent Collection

Los Angeles, LACMA Museum, from January 2017

In January 2017, the Cervo Chair by Antonio Pio Saracino entered the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Crafted from thin bentwood strips, the chair evokes the ribcage and antlers of a deer. It explores traditional plywood through a complex, inside-out structural system that enhances strength while using reduced material to increase flexibility where the seat meets the back.
