GATE 150 – Commemorative Installation – Temporary public art by Antonio Pio Saracino (2012), honoring the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification. Reminiscent of a triumphal arch, the 10’ x 10’ x 3’ Styrofoam installations visualize centuries of Italian emigration through layered population data. Serving as symbolic portals, the arches celebrate Italian culture’s global impact. Editions were exhibited at Museo Caraffa (Argentina), MuBE Museum (Brazil), and Industry Gallery (Washington, D.C.).
