Antonio Pio Saracino’s acclaimed marble sculpture The Guardians: Hero was selected by the Art Miami committee for prominent placement at the fair’s main entrance. A contemporary reinterpretation of Michelangelo’s David, the work originated from a 2013 Italian government commission and was permanently installed at Three Bryant Park, New York. A special 7-foot edition was presented by Studio Contemporary NYC for Art Miami’s 25th anniversary, following exhibitions in Florence honoring Michelangelo’s legacy.
