Mixed-Use Building

Project Designer: APS Designs
The Seed House by APS Designs, recipient of the 2007 American Architecture Award, is a 1,400 sq ft country home in upstate New York inspired by a seedpod. Its cedar-shingled exterior and wooden frame integrate seamlessly with the woods, while roof and wall slits invite natural light and connect interior spaces with the environment. A sculptural, unfolding form creates a vibrant, nature-infused living space that harmonizes architecture with its serene surroundings.
