King Manfredi Square – Proposal – Commissioned in 2010 and recipient of the King Manfredi Award for Architectural Excellence, Antonio Pio Saracino designed this public plaza in Manfredonia, Puglia, Italy. Inspired by the eagle of the Manfredi family crest, the square features elevated ramps forming an open-air theater, wing-like stairways with reflective pools beneath, and a central stage overlooking the 13th-century castle. Titanium-clad ramps and local marble paving complete the design.
