The Modular Chair is a design object with the structural logic of a living system. The surface of the chair undulates – it’s composed of two interconnected modules that, once assembled, strengthen the resistance of the chair by increasing the cross-sectional force, as with the structure of many natural forms.
The two basic modules have been designed to flex and react in opposing directions when pressure is exerted on the seat. The modules are assembled and held in place by steel bars to form a lightweight, flexible truss. The Modular Chair is intended for both indoor and outdoor use.
