Italian Cultural Institute, New York City
The Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in New York City, located in an historic townhouse on Park Avenue, requested the creation of a series of installations to compliment and enrich the contemporary Institute’s cultural programming.
The four installations designed for its interior and grounds provide additional space for arts and cultural activities without altering the historic architecture of the Park Avenue building.
Saracino’s work at the IIC included the design proposal for a multipurpose mediatech area for art exhibits, lectures, and films; installing additional lighting and amenities in the Institute’s library; and building a temporary garden space with a transparent green canopy for outdoor events.
