NEW YORK CITY, FUTURE FURNITURE AWARD/ Adjustable Screen

New York City, May 2005: Interior Design Magazine has awarded the Adjustable Screen by Antonio Pio Saracino and Steve Blatz with the Future Furniture Award.
The Adjustable Screen can be configured to filter exterior light, divide a room or create an illuminated backdrop. The screen is composed of vertical rows of translucent fiberglass panels joined to each other with high-torque friction computer laptop hinges at their top and bottom edges.
The panels can be manually adjusted to create accordion-like strips that filter light and create a dynamic zigzag sculptural form.
The screen, by its kinetic interactive nature, redefines space and concepts of indoor/outdoor permeability.
